The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
