Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know all that you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
