Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
