The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 who guard their privates, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
