AND IT IS We who have built the universe with [Our creative] power; and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it. 47 We spread the earth a carpet; what comfort We provide! 48 And We created pairs of everything that you may contemplate. 49 So turn to God. I give you a clear warning from Him. 50 And set not up (or worship) any other ilahan (god) along with Allah [Glorified be He (Alone), Exalted above all that they associate as partners with Him]. Verily, I (Muhammad SAW) am a plain warner to you from Him. 51 [But] thus it is: never yet came any apostle to those who lived before their time but they said, "A spellbinder, ["sorcerer" is he,] or a madman!" 52 Have they arrived at a common understanding concerning this? No; but they are a people given to transgression. 53 So turn thou from them; thou wilt not be reproached. 54 Keep on reminding them. This benefits the believers. 55 I created the jinn and mankind only so that they might worship Me: 56 No Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me. 57 Verily Allah! He is the Provider, Owner of power, Firm. 58 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a portion of torment like to the evil portion of torment (which came for) their likes (of old), so let them not ask Me to hasten on! 59 Therefore woe to those who disbelieve because of their day which they are threatened with. 60
