The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
