O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 “Do not implore this day; you will not be helped by Us.” 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or, do you ask a tribute from them? Your Lord's tribute is better. He is the Best of providers. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
