The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
