And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They said, "We shall continue worshipping the calf until Moses comes back." 91 Musa said: O Harun! what prevented thee, when thou sawest them going astray. 92 from following after me, did you disobey my order' 93 He [Harun (Aaron)] said: "O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard, nor by my head! Verily, I feared lest you should say: 'You have caused a division among the Children of Israel, and you have not respected my word!' " 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He replied: 'I saw what they did not see and seized a handful of dust from the foot print of the messenger and so I cast it; this my soul prompted me to do' 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 Your god is only Allah, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge." 98 Thus We tell you, (Muhammad), the stories of the past and We have given you the Quran. 99 Whoever turns away from it will bear a heavy burden on the Day of Judgement, 100 and live in it for ever; how evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. 101 On the day when the trumpet will be sounded We will raise the criminals from their graves and their eyes will be turned blue and blind. 102 Whispering secretly among themselves, “You have not stayed on earth but for ten days.” 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
