EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
