The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
