At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
