T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no god but He. His are the most excellent names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
