Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
