And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
