Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by Ya Sin 1 I call to witness the Qur'an, custodian of all laws, -- 2 Lo! thou art of those sent 3 on a straight path; 4 A revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful, 5 so that you may warn a people whose ancestors were not warned before wherefore they are heedless. 6 The Phrase has become obligatory upon most of them, yet they do not believe. 7 Surely We have put on their necks fetters up to the chin, so their heads are raised; 8 And We have placed before them a barrier and behind them a barrier, so We have covered them, so that they see not. 9 Whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. 10 You can warn only him who follows the Admonition and fears the Merciful Lord without seeing Him. Give such a one good tidings of forgiveness and a generous reward. 11 Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces [their footsteps and walking on the earth with their legs to the mosques for the five compulsory congregational prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) and all other good and evil they did, and that which they leave behind], and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book. 12
