HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
