Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 rise (to pray) the night except a little; 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling. 6 Verily there is for thee by day occupation prolonged. 7 So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion. 8 [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. 9 Bear with patience what they say, and gracefully come away from them. 10 And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 and Pharaoh rebelled against the apostle, whereupon We took him to task with a crushing grip. 16 How then, if you disbelieve, will you preserve yourselves on the day which will even turn the children hoary? 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an admonition; let him therefore, who will, choose a way unto his Lord. 19
