The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
