Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 in extended columns. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
