Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Do they have another god besides God? God is too exalted to be considered equal to the idols. 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
