Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
