The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 who divert themselves with idle chatter: 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
