The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
