The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
