The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
