O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 Leave them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
