The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
