Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
