By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 you pay attention 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
