The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
