Whatever hardship befalls you is the result of your own deeds. God pardons many of your sins. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 And those who avoid the heinous sins and indecencies and when they are angry forgive, 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
