Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
