The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
