(The tribe of) A’ad denied the Noble Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
