And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
