To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 Until when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the East and the West; so evil is the associate! 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 Wherefore canst thou make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is is error manifest? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 Or show you what We have promised them – We therefore have complete control over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped? 45
