HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
