Joseph (Yousuf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
ALIF LAM RA. These are the verses of the immaculate Book. 1 Lo! We have revealed it, a Lecture in Arabic, that ye may understand. 2 We recount to you the best of narratives in revealing this Quran to you, even though you were unaware of it before it came. 3 [Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me." 4 He said: O my son! recount not thine vision unto thy brethren, lest they plot a plot against thee; verily the Satan is unto man an enemy manifest. 5 Your Lord will choose you and teach you to interpret events, and confer His favours on you and the house of Jacob, as He had done in the case of two ancestors of yours, Abraham and Isaac, before you. Indeed your Lord is all-knowing and all-wise." 6
