The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 who observe Zakah; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 these are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
