The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ BLESSED IS HE who revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong) to His votary that it may be a warning for the world, -- 1 He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, who has neither begotten a son nor has He a partner in His kingdom, (who) created everything and determined its exact measure. 2 Yet have they taken, besides him, gods that can create nothing but are themselves created; that have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control death nor life nor resurrection. 3 And those who disbelieve say: this is naught but a falsehood that he hath fabricated and there have assisted him therein other people; so surely they have aimed at a wrong and a fraud. 4 They say: 'He has written tales of the ancients, they are recited to him at dawn and at the evening' 5 Say: 'He sent it down, who knows the secret in the heavens and earth; He is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.' 6 And they say: What aileth this messenger (of Allah) that he eateth food and walketh in the markets? Why is not an angel sent down unto him, to be a warner with him. 7 Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic." 8 See how they strike examples for you, surely they have gone astray and are unable to find a way. 9
