And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.). 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
