In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds and believed in what has been sent down upon Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) – and that is the truth from their Lord – Allah has relieved them of some of their evils and refined their condition. 2 That is because the ones who deny the truth follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord. Thus God sets forth comparisons for mankind. 3 So when you confront the disbelievers, strike at their necks; until when you have slain them in plenty, tie them up firmly; then after that, you may either release them as a favour or take ransom, until the war lays down its ordeal; this is it; and had Allah willed He Himself could have taken revenge from them, but this is to test some of you with others; and Allah will surely never waste the deeds of those who were killed in His way. 4 He will show them the way, and better their state, 5 And He shall make them enter the Garden; He shall have made it known unto them. 6 Believers! If you succour God, He will succour you and make your footsteps firm. 7 And those who disbelieve, perdition is for them, and He will make their actions vain. 8 It is because they are averse to what God has revealed that He has rendered their deeds futile. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who were before them? Allah wiped them out. And for the disbelievers there will be the like thereof. 10 That is because God is the Protector of the believers, and that the unbelievers have no protector. 11
