Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
