Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
