۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
