Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Proclaim, “Go on waiting – I too am waiting along with you.” 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
