Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
