Truly, it is We who have revealed to you the Quran, a gradual revelation. 23 Wherefore persevere thou with the commandment of thy Lord, and obey not thou of them, any sinner or ingrate. 24 And mention the name of your Lord [in prayer] morning and evening 25 And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer). 26 Lo! these love fleeting life, and put behind them (the remembrance of) a grievous day. 27 We have created them and have given them strength. Had We wanted, We could have replaced them with another people like them. 28 Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way. 29 But you will not desire except as God wills. Verily He is all-knowing and all-wise. 30 He maketh whom He will to enter His mercy, and for evil-doers hath prepared a painful doom. 31
