Al-Naze'aat 2 of 2
Are you more difficult to create, or is the heaven that He constructed? 27 He raised high its height, then put it into a right good state. 28 And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness. 29 And after that He spread the earth. 30 And he brought forth therefrom its water, and its pasture. 31 And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;- 32 [all this] as a means of livelihood for you and your animals. 33 When the great calamity comes, 34 the human being will recall whatever he has done. 35 And Hell made visible to him who can see, 36 So for one who rebelled, 37 And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts), 38 that blazing fire will truly be the goal! 39 But he who feared to stand before his Lord, and restrained himself from evil desires, 40 Then surely the garden-- that is the abode. 41 They ask you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) about the Hour, - when will be its appointed time? 42 About what! You are one to remind of it. 43 Your Lord alone knows when it will come; 44 Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it. 45 On the Day when they behold it, it will be as if they had lingered but an evening, or, a morning. 46

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
